Dear Dr. Ham, We are pleased to inform you that you have been nominated to submit your proposal for a chapter in Sciyo's new open access book project under the working title "Robot Learning", ISBN 978-953-7619-X-X. Your nomination is based on your paper "A robust audit mechanism to prevent malicious behaviors in multi-robot systems". However, we are neither asking nor are we willing to republish the mentioned paper. We are looking for the new contributions in the field. "Robot Learning" will be published both in hard copy (with ISBN) and online, with completely free access for anyone, anywhere in the world. To enable free access to the worldwide scientific community, Sciyo charges a publication fee of 470 euro. However, authors will receive annual royalties based on the number of downloads of their published work. To this date, more than 10 000 academics from the world's leading institutions have published with us, making their work a public good. It is our hope that you will support the open access movement and share your expert knowledge with the scientific community and the world. Further details and important dates can be found at: http://www.sciyo.com/invitation/273/ham1@cs.uiuc.edu Please inform us whether you are willing to contribute to the book. Kind regards Aleksandar Lazinica P.S. Please visit Sciyo.com where you can view and download all Sciyo books, journals and videos free of charge! ______________________________ sciyo.com Where Knowledge is Free |
jack | Sciyo is Open Access publisher located in Europe. 470 Eur is a fair price for the service they offer. Springer Open Choice costs 3000 USD |
Chan | Take a look at their on-line books. There you can find arround 40 books on learning and robotics. |
Oh boy... "Springer Open Choice" is to provide "open access" (for journals already published) not to "publish". To publish journals, you (generally) don't need to pay (even if you need, it's much less than 470 Euro), you just need to pass the peer reviews. Thus, 470 Euro for "publication" (especially when you don't have any "authority") it not a fair price (do you think SCIYO is as reputable as Springer?), that only makes it look like an academic scam (just like "GESTS"). Anyone who can google sciyo will know what's going on. :P As I'm not a desperate grad student searching for publication chances, just go screw yourselves somewhere else.... Jacky Chan (or jack-chan.. from 4-chan?)? lol... |
Bruce Lee | I do not agree Jacky Chan. Your institution have to pay a lot of money for subscriptions, your intellectual property becomes the property of the publisher. If you want to share your findings you have to pay extra money. Spriner is reputable but they print a lot of garbage too. |
